DR C...
... is an artist whose medium of expression happens to be Science.
Versatile scientist and translational thinker, Dr C has a PhD from the University of Leeds (UK) in Colloidal Science (emulsion-gels). Her list of scientific publications comprises modelling and knowledge transfer in Food Science, Cancer Research, and Environmental Sciences (between 2001 and 2011).
Having spent a considerable amount of time observing microstructures under various types of microscopes, Dr C is fascinated by the imaging of clusters formed by fine liquid spheres and strands of proteins. This is reflected in her work by the frequent use of spherical shapes in motion and the networks or entanglements of strings or lines.
After running her business in Science & Innovation, immersive experiences, and collaborated with Artists, she decided to go back to University and retrained as an Artist in 2019.
In 2020-2021 Dr C received a grant from the the Arts Council to develop her own practice and completed her first residency at the Wycombe Arts Centre as Installation Artist.
Dr C further specialised in Performative Installation Art and obtained her MA in Fine Art with distinction in 2023 from the University for the Creative Arts whilst completing her second residency at the Wycombe Arts Centre venturing into aspects of curation.
